February 17 marked the main day of the annual conference organized by American Pistachio Growers, held in Indian Wells. After an initial day dedicated to networking, the event moved fully into the strategic issues currently shaping the direction of the sector.
The “State of the Industry” session opened the day with an overview of the business, addressing production, inventories, and market outlook. Presentations highlighted the strength of international demand and the growing positioning of pistachios in key markets, as well as global marketing strategies aimed at further expanding consumption.
Another central theme was water management, a critical factor for California growers. Specialists analyzed regulatory challenges and water management techniques in a context of increasing pressure on natural resources.
The day also featured a commercial exhibition space and meetings between growers, exporters, and suppliers, reinforcing the event’s role as one of the main gathering points for the U.S. pistachio industry.
