Producers, technical advisors and industry companies gathered to analyze the global nut sector and the main challenges facing Iberian fruit production during a new edition of the Nuts Working Day organized by EasyNut Tecnología.
SANTARÉM, PORTUGAL — On June 2, Santarém hosted a new edition of the Nuts Working Day, a technical and commercial event that brought together growers, specialists and representatives from companies linked to the nut industry across the Iberian Peninsula.
Held at the facilities of Gonuts – Sociedade Agrícola, S.A., the event focused on assessing the current state of the sector. The program opened with a presentation by Rafael Bianchini, CEO of Frunut SPA, who addressed both the international outlook of the nut industry and the local production reality.
The agenda featured technical presentations on the evolution of global markets, production trends and prospects for the world’s leading producing countries, as well as a roundtable discussion focused on the strengths, opportunities and challenges facing Iberian fruit and nut production in an increasingly competitive environment shaped by evolving climatic, production and commercial demands.
Throughout the event, participants highlighted the importance of continuing to promote innovation, technology transfer and knowledge sharing as essential tools to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of agricultural operations. The program also included presentations by various industry experts. Among them, Lluis Mateu discussed the current technical situation of the sector, among other key topics.
