Dubai, UAE — During the recent conference held in Dubai from January 30 to February 1, global leaders of the cashew sector agreed on a central concern: the strong growth in global production could generate oversupply and downward pressure on prices in the coming years.
With projections pointing to a sustained increase in global volumes toward 2030, the industry stressed the need to balance supply and demand through improved coordination and strategic planning.
Among the key messages highlighted were:
- Promoting processing at origin to capture greater value addition and reduce dependence on exporting raw cashew nuts.
- Strengthening infrastructure and logistics, particularly in West Africa, to improve competitiveness.
- Raising standards for quality, traceability, and certifications to access demanding markets such as Europe and the United States.
The meeting concluded with a call to promote sustainable and structured growth, prioritizing efficiency, quality, and resilience across the global cashew value chain.
