On February 25 and 26, the 16th Annual Hazelnut Growers Meeting of Ferrero Hazelnut Company was held in Linares and Temuco, respectively. The event brought together producers from the country’s main growing regions to review the 2025 season and discuss the outlook for 2026.
One of the most relevant announcements came from Camillo Scocco, General Manager of Agrichile HCo – Ferrero, who confirmed that planted area in Chile has now surpassed 65,000 hectares, consolidating the sustained growth of the crop in the country over the past decade.
During the meeting, it was also emphasized that Chile’s competitiveness depends on maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and sustainability, factors that are now decisive in supplying the global industry.
The international outlook was addressed by Simoni Messori, Head of Hazelnut Company Procurement at Ferrero Group, who explained the impact of the severe frost recorded in Turkey in 2025. The production decline in the world’s leading supplier has tightened the market and opened a favorable scenario for other origins.
In this context, Chilean growers are optimistic, as a significant increase in prices is projected, potentially reaching record levels, particularly for the Giffoni variety, which is highly demanded by the industry.
As a result, Chile is not only continuing to expand its hazelnut planting area but is also consolidating its position as a strategic player in the global hazelnut supply, at a time when the international market is facing significant adjustments in supply.
